Re: It's time to start Masuaku vs Norwich
Chances created since August 2015:

Cresswell - 131 in 147 games
Masuaku - 45 in 76 games

He isn’t better going forward.

Re: It's time to start Masuaku vs Norwich
Cresswell is just as bad as him in defense. Masuaku offers more going forward

Re: It's time to start Masuaku vs Norwich
Cresswell has been poor recently.

Masuaku has almost always been poor and was wrecked by the wingers at might Oxford in the cup. He should be nowhere near the starting XI.

Because he did 1 cross v Norwich nearly a year ago?

This is why I want him to start

Re: It's time to start Masuaku vs Norwich
I agree he's not a fullback.

But further forward, his game seems to be less than the sum of its parts. Often looks good, but little (but not no) end-product.

Perhaps if he concentrated on being an attacker, he might get better at it.

No way that he'd improve as a defender by concentrating on that.

Shows how shit our squad is when people think Masuaku is going to save us.

He will give away a pen if he plays, total liability

If Arthur Masuaku is the answer?

What the fuck is the question?!

Re: It's time to start Masuaku vs Norwich
At full back the guy is an absolute liability. Can’t defend and runs with the ball like he’s in the final third at the other end with no recognition that if he loses it, we’re screwed.

Wing back, left midfield or even a pacey option further forward he can be effective. But not on the left of a back four

Re: It's time to start Masuaku vs Norwich
Is no worse defensively than Cresswell but has more presence, pace, skill and can cross a ball. Why not give him another go.

Best position is wingback or even winger.
We've never played to his strengths or used him properly. I actually rate him just not at LB.

Another disjointed signing who we haven't got the best out of.

Re: It's time to start Masuaku vs Norwich
Cresswell was totally at fault for the goal conceded against Burnley. He knew where Rodriguez was and went with his fucking foot rather than his head. Totally poncey schoolboy error

Glenn Rodent 5:34 Fri Jul 10
Re: It's time to start Masuaku vs Norwich
You can only really play Masuaku in a wing back role with 3 central defenders and two defensively minded central midfielders. Otherwise he is a liability.

He can't play left back or left midfield either because he has got previous for being very shit.

Cresswell is hopeless too and brings nothing to the party. For me it is either Masuaku as a wing back in a certain formation or we continue to leak lots of goals with either Cresswell or Masuaku at left back.

Mad Dog 5:17 Fri Jul 10
Re: It's time to start Masuaku vs Norwich
The only time masuaku is the answer, is to the question "who is the ONLY left back in the Premier league who is somehow worse than creaswell"

Re: It's time to start Masuaku vs Norwich
If some people think that the answer is Masuaku then we are well and truly fucked.

“Barty is on the gear, again”

He’s never off it. It’s so evident in his posts.

Hope he gets the help he needs.

Barty is on the gear, again
Fucka is never a FB, his positional play a liability that pulls Og' wide to compensate and creates holes
Only way to play him is wide with a FB behind
That said Cresswell has been dismal and needs a right good kick up the arse, but still remains a better option

Re: It's time to start Masuaku vs Norwich
.......He's another player who was signed with no plan as to how he would fit in to them team and another played out of position and playing poorly.

13 Brentford Rd 11:26 Fri Jul 10
Re: It's time to start Masuaku vs Norwich
Masuaku is not a LB he's a wingback / winger.
He's ideal if we played 3 at the back.
Not sure why no manager has realised this. Has pace, strength, skill and can cross a ball well but can't defend.

Re: It's time to start Masuaku vs Norwich

If I ever start to feel remotely positive I just remember that we gave Cresswell a contract extension to 2023 just a few months ago, seemingly solely on the strength of a good free kick against Man Utd.

As far as starting the spitter is concerned - give me fucking strength

ChillTheKeel 10:14 Fri Jul 10
Re: It's time to start Masuaku vs Norwich
I'd have him over Cresswell any day, but both should be thrown in the river.
